91-year-old Janina Kolkiewicz had been declared dead 11 hours before waking up inside a body bag.
The incident, which has been described by some as a 'miracle', occurred after workers at a funeral home in Poland went to investigate sounds of movement inside the morgue.

Despite being declared clinically dead several hours beforehand Mrs Kolkiewicz had apparently regained consciousness and now appeared to be in perfect health.

The doctor who issued the death certificate couldn't believe it.
"If I had had any doubts about her being dead I would have called an ambulance and would have tried to resuscitate her," he said. "But she had no vital signs: no pulse, nothing."

The woman's neice, Bogumila Kolkiewicz, described how she had been in shock since receiving a phone call at midnight to tell her that her aunt was very much alive.

"She doesn't know what happened to her, but she's in good health," she said.

The definition of death should be rewritten : clinical death vs unressurectable death

How deeply asleep was she that she was able to be picked up and transported to the morgue, handled numerous times, placed on a cold hard slab and then into cold storage. I'm guessing it was not all done in silence either or with much care - they're not gonna be particularly concerned about gently touching a "corpse" while they are doing all this.

In the South we call that "dead to the world" usually, but not always, caused by passing out drunk.

i wonder how often this happens and is never reported, to the masses anyway? Could be worse, imagine 'waking up' as the mortician is beginning the embalming process. Freaky! As long as the mortician isn't using my "corpse" as a ventriloquist dummy, I'd probably be fine.

Or if he is, at least he should be good at it. I wake up and they're pulling it off? I'll laugh. I see his/her lips moving? I'm beating them with a instrument tray
