With 2012 only a few years away now theories and predictions of potential disasters set to occur are rampant, but exactly how much truth is there to these and what are the facts behind these proposed apocalyptic scenarios ?
A film by Roland Emmerich - the director behind the disaster movies like "Independence Day: and "The Day After Tomorrow", is generating new interest in predictions of a major mishap to hit Earth December 21st, 2012 . The film aptly named "2012" relies on a set of disasters that force man to leave the planet in order to survive.

Oh how tedious. Can this man produce anything but mega-budget space-centred disaster movies? For goodness sake, Roland, try your hand at a rom com or something for a change.

I couldn't even get through half of the article. I gotta wonder though, after nothing happens in 2012, what the next apocalypse date will be.

I just can't wait to find out what WILL happen... and when it all blows over, what is the next apocolyptic prediction date?

Eugh, that article was terribly written. That guy needs to learn how to format his grammar! As for the subject, whatever the Mayans based their calendar on I don't believe they purposely stopped on 2012. They simply wouldn't have had a need to formulate a calendar that proceeded that date. They would have had a very long time to make a new calendar if needs be. I suppose, in a way, you could compare it to the idea that the Unix time-stamp runs out on January 19, 2038. When 2035 comes around will we start to create wild theories about the world ending in 3 years time? No, because unlike the May... [More]

(IMO) Believers & enthusiasts alike, don't waste money on an overrated/over-hyped movie (dwn-ld HQ off torrent), you only encourage him to make another down the track. The dude's almost clone of Dan Brown trying to blend so called researched facts/predictions () with hollow-wood fiction fantasy...(some kind of luring tactic i guess)(?) But half his luck...money anyway, box office takings

I just can't wait to find out what WILL happen... and when it all blows over, what is the next apocolyptic prediction date? Uhmm... I guess somewhere in the 23d century... Dutch scientists have said the 2012 date is 2 centuries off, heh. Read this article (a Google translation of the original Dutch article) : ~~LINK~~
