And that's the truth... the Vatican has never confirmed nor denied the authenticity of the shroud and have left it up to others to decide what they will. What's annoying is that the Vatican will no longer allow anyone to study it. That is crap.

The thing that gets me is the image looks Northern European, not Middle Eastern. I hold to the theory that it's the image of a Frankish Crusader who was tortured in the fashion that Christ was. Lapiche

Lapiche I think that's a very plausible scenario... but we'll never know because the Vatican will never allow it to be studied again... what a shame. I've always thought it looked northern European too. And JC, as we all know, wasn't a caucasian dude.

If it was real the Vatican would allow RC scientists to test and confirm it. That would be worlwide headlines of a positive kind for them. The fact that they won't let a scientist anywhere near it speaks volumes.
