A video showing what appears to be a unicorn running through the woods has been confirmed to be a hoax.
The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada originally claimed they had received the video from a group of hunters however later confirmed that the video had actually been a fake. In an e-mail to UM member Sakari who was investigating the video a representative stated:
"We chose to use a video of an alleged “unicorn sighting” to get the public thinking about how myths persist even though we know they cannot be true. These stories appeal to the human imagination.
Unicorns are one of the many beasts featured in our upcoming exhibition, Mythic Creature: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids, which explores fossils, extinct creatures and animals that may have been the inspiration for some of these tales. Reaction to the video shows that even today, we are fascinated by myths."[!gad]The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada originally claimed they had received the video from a group of hunters however later confirmed that the video had actually been a fake.
