Born in 1896, Besse Cooper is officially the world's oldest living person at 115 years old.
Cooper is still able to speak and remember things although these days she sleeps for almost 80% of the day. She married her husband in 1924, has four children, 12 grandchildren and several more great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. "I mind my own business.. and I don't eat junk food," she says.
Besse Cooper's birthday celebrations were held at her residence in Monroe, Georgia – although this year, unlike last, there was no Elvis impersonator at the party.

One thing: She's not the oldest person in the world... In India, 115 is an early death. There are people who've lived til like 200 or so. Source?

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Jeanne_Calment Jeanne Calment has lived to age 121 and is well documented scientifically. So this article is not really anything special... unless you guys can refute Jeanne's age.

There has been atleast one confirmed case of someone living past 115, although I'm sure that after that age the risks of dying any given years rises dramatically. The oldest person to ever live was french woman who lived to 122, so I wouldn't say that it is impossible to live past 115. My link Yeah, there are a few cases of people living a bit past that...but it seems that the overwhelming majority of "oldest people" are right at 115.
