A search is underway to find the crash site of an object that came down in the region on Friday night.
Witness reports describe a shining object accompanied by a bright glow covering the sky as it fell, it is believed to have landed somewhere in the taiga forest of the Irkutsk region. "We will be able to say what it is, only when we see the thing itself and the place where it fell," said regional administrator Aleksandr Sergey. Early indications point to the object being either a meteorite or a piece of space debris such as a satellite.
An unidentified glowing object is said to have crashed down from the skies in Russia’s Siberia, causing a powerful explosion. A search for the mysterious item is underway amid speculations of what on Earth it could be.

Could be just another grain silo, though there is one huge man-made junkyard orbiting this planet and whatever doesn't burn up when its orbit decays is going to come down on earth somewhere...someday.

Similar to Tunguska mystery. Meteorite or otherworld? Not really similar in my honest opinion - the Tunguska event was significantly larger than this. And the chance of an otherworldly origin is probably pretty slim. I am guessing a small meteorite or the like. Cheers, Badeskov
