Outer Zones has run an article on the top five UFO hoaxes of all time, beginning with the infamous Santilli 'alien' autopsy claimed to have been filmed following the Roswell incident.
The Unidentified Flying saucer craze was most influential and became surrounded with hype in the 1950s and 60s, as more and more people were reporting sightings or personal interactions with extraterrestrials. It is a common belief shared among experts that this UFO craze was spread not only by individuals who sincerely believe in UFOs, but by those tugging and wrestling for their chance in the spotlight."

I think this guy should go back to journalism school. He makes the claim that the Hale Bopp comet never existed. I certainly hope it was a typo but it sure didn't look like it to me. Furthermore, I would certainly make sure my data was accurate before posting my very first artice/blog. Outer Zones isn't starting off too well.

Maybe he took the Cap'n Crunch Journalist Badge, that comes in every box, seriously.

I also noticed that little(?) mistake about Hale Bopp and I have to agree it didn't look like a typo. Not only that but Hale Bopp is the only comet I've actually been able to see with binoculars. I also have to question his comments about Billy Meier because AFAIK nobody has been able to duplicate his UFO photos. As to him changing his dates for the predictions of wars, that doesn't really bother me because as any one who has studied even the slightest about chaos theory knows it sometimes doesn't take much for a small, seemingly insignificant change, to have long reaching effects. So it is qu... [More]

IMO the alien autopsy did in fact look "real". But it seems that the author is a little bias, especially towards crop circles. Some of these are WAY too perfect and until someone can debunk some of the more elaborate circles, I'll still have an open mind.
