Dogs (not chimps) most like humans

A new study has shown that dogs, rather than chimps, are most like humans. Dogs have undergone so much domestication that they now serve as a model for the understanding of human social behaviour.
Chimpanzees share many of our genes, but dogs have lived with us for so long and undergone so much domestication that they are now serving as a model for understanding human social behavior, according to a new paper. Cooperation, attachment to people, understanding human verbal and non-verbal communications, and the ability to imitate are just a handful of the social behaviors we share with dogs."

I can believe that. I always felt I had a lot in common with my springer spaniel before she died. *does spaniel eyes at parents in order to get walked*

Agreed....now we just have to figure out what cats are *up too* They're biding their time until they can eliminate both us humans and the canines in one fell swoop.

No one can read my emotions better than my dogs over the years have. My cats too, have notable reactions to my moods/situation (like while my broken arm was healing, etc) although cat's haven't been domesticated anywhere near as long as dogs and IMO will always be 'wild at heart' and 'walking in both worlds', they are, after all, a different species entirely from dogs. My beloved little dog I have now (first small/toy dog I have EVER owned which I never thought I would ever own a small dog), brings the sunshine to my days. dogs have always seemed to hate me. no matter where i go some dog or another either growls at me or barks menacingly. must be because im in league with the cats

I hope nobody finds that to be a reason to legalize beastiality That's a huge leap from what the article is about. That's a little disturbing.
