Two race horses electrocuted in freak racecourse accident at Newbury Races
In a very bizarre turn of events at Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire two horses dropped dead after what appears to be a lethal electric shock. Both horses where down in the parade ring and witnesses claimed to have felt a tingling sensation around where the horses collapsed.
Professor Tim Morris, director of equine science and welfare for the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), said:"Whilst there are suspicions that an electrical fault was the cause and this is being looked into by the racecourse and relevant authorities, it is important that we investigate other possible causes.
