23 year-old Paula Ross has been absolutely terrified of the yellow fruit for her whole life.
Her fear was so extreme that she couldn't even stand being in the same room as a banana, but now thanks to hypnotherapy she has succeeded in conquering her fear and is able to eat bananas without any difficulties.
When Paula Ross was a toddler she was forced to eat fruit like every other child - but it drove her bananas for more than 20 years. Now aged 23 and after years of enduring a phobia to bananas she has finally conquered a childhood fear that saw her nauseous at the sight of one.

I didn't mean to hijack the thread, but here's a link to a Facebook post, as well as the original post I think. http://www.unusualphobias.com/dogandspider.html http://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Top-25-Wierdest-Phobias/189772604380817?v=info Hypnotherapy seems to continue to show signs of progress in some therapeutic and clinical functions at least, even if helping with recall is definitely not one of the things one should rely on vitally, unless there is just absolutely no other way. Still, being afraid of bananas. Inanimate objects I have really stretch my imagination on. Heights, clowns, spide... [More]

It's important to be aware of whether or not our fears are rational. "You're not crazy if you know it" kind of thing.

Why did this get a thread? It should have been included in the strangest phobias thread. This got a thread because it was posted before the strangest phobias thread. http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=209239 Also this one (Bananaphobia) is a news article about a specific person and how she's come to deal with her phobia. The other one (13 Phobias You've Probably Never Heard Of) is not.
