A teleconference is being held on Tuesday in which new Apollo landing site photographs will be revealed.
For years conspiracy theorists have doubted that man ever set foot on the lunar surface, the soon to be released new photographs taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter are likely to become a topic of much debate in the near future.
NASA will host a media teleconference at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 6, to reveal new images of three Apollo landing sites taken from the agency's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO.

So why would NASA even publish poor quality photos of the landing sites? It all goes back to the White House. My guess is that were orders to do so because the administration is afraid of more budget cuts and there is a percentage of the public who does not believe we went to moon. I am sure they write to their elected representatives telling them to cut even more. Also I do not believe it is an accident that these photos came out just as Apollo 18 hits the movie theaters. That is the last thing the agency needs is a film accusing them of lying to the public. I just have to ask: What the hell ... [More]

I just don't get it. We have one telescope in orbit that has the ability to distinguish the thickness of a nickel from 280,000 miles away....and we can't get high res images of a footprint on the surface of the moon???? We did, 42 yers ago: Does it get much higher res than this? We didn't even need a telescope. A 70mm Hasselblad and some decent Kodak film (I know, so low tech and obsolete now..)got these, and hundreds more pictures of footprints.

If you look at the above pictre of the LEM on the surface you will see that there is no crater under the engine bell which produced 50,000 pounds of thrust as it lowered the LEM to the surface. Yet the astronauts footprints are very clear. They say that an astronaut on the moon weighed about 50 pounds or something like that and they produced nice footprints in the dust. But a 50,000 pound rocket engine does not even move the dust one inch. Somebody disgreed with me that the film Apollo 18 caused NASA to produce these phoney pictures. I agree that the film was poorly done and will not win an ac... [More]

Refusing to acknowledge your errors and... [More]

**EDIT** **Mike, you were already warned before. This is not a conspiracy thread. This is a science thread. If you want to discuss conspiracies, go to the conspiracy forum. As long as you are in here, limit yourself to asking questions for the purpose of learning something about a subject which you really, really need to learn more about.**

We all know that. Craters weren't entirely expected given the hard substrate. This has been discussed and explained to death a hundred times and it's now boring. Do you have any idea what the pressure of 2800 pounds (NOT 50 KLBS...and you've already been told that...It had a max of 10 KLBS)actually was on the surface? No you don't. It couldn't have produced a crater in that rock hard substrate. Yet... [More]

101: show me pictures takne by the astronauts of the engine bell and the condition of the soil under it. Can you show me one picture of the hundreds published showing a blast crater? In all the Apollo pictures the footprints are very clear in the lunar dust, but nothing under the engine bell. Maybe I missed one. Show it to me. Do some research of your own, Mike, because, despite your questions above its obvious that you don't want to hear it from us. You've been given the answers several time but you seem unwilling to acknowledge them and continue to post your nonsense about some mysterious 50... [More]
