Ancient tomb in Peru built to flood

Archaeologists have uncovered an ancient tomb with a basement designed to intentionally flood.
In 2011 the team had found the remains of a pre-Inca priestess and eight other corpses in the tomb, however it wasn't until they dug a little deeper during a new archaeological dig at the site that they unearthed the 800-year-old basement underneath. What makes the find so unusual is that the basement appears to have been designed specifically to let in water, likely in accordance with the beliefs of an ancient water cult."This is a very valuable finding," said excavation director Carlos Wester La Torre. Continuing their search for artifacts a year later, the team dug beneath the priestess, uncovering a basement tomb they believe was built by an ancient water cult and meant to flood.
