Pope Francis blessed thousands of the bikes and their riders at an anniversary parade on Sunday.
The event was intended to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the motorcycle manufacturer and featured a cacophony of Harley engines as tens of thousands of riders and enthusiasts turned up from all over the world. With their trademark leathers the armies of bikers were an unusual spectacle in the center of Rome.
Not to miss the celebrations, Pope Francis greeted the crowds before Mass and bestowed his blessings on those taking part in the rally. The engine noise was so loud that a recitation of the "Our Father" prayer in Latin could barely be heard over the revving motors.
Pope Francis on Sunday blessed thousands of Harley Davidsons and their riders as the American motorcycle manufacturer celebrated its 110th anniversary with a loud parade and plenty of leather.
