NASA's plucky helicopter has captured close-up images of the wreckage from Perseverance's arrival on Mars.
Viewed out of context, this image of an almost saucer-shaped piece of wreckage on the surface of the Red Planet could be mistaken for evidence of extraterrestrial visitors, however far from being a smoking gun in this regard, it is in fact the best view yet of the landing system used by NASA's latest exploratory rover to descend in one piece onto the surface of Mars.
Having sat on the red dust and rock since February 2021, this object is the backshell which protected the rover (and its helicopter passenger) during its intense descent from Martian orbit.
It was photographed by NASA's Ingenuity helicopter - a machine that has surprised everyone with its longevity and hardiness given that engineers had not expected it to keep working for so long.
This was in fact its 26th flight overall - not bad at all considering it was originally designed for just five.
"NASA extended Ingenuity flight operations to perform pioneering flights such as this," said Ingenuity team leader Teddy Tzanetos.
"Every time we're airborne, Ingenuity covers new ground and offers a perspective no previous planetary mission could achieve."
There is nothing interesting there, whether there was life or not, and what it was, it is impossible to establish due to the absence of any buildings, there is nothing there besides sand and rocks, water in a bound state. If there was a possibility of life, then nature would be at least weeds it produced there, but there is nothing vegetable there. The core of the planet is inactive, and this is the heart of the planet. Mars is almost dead or in a deep lethargic sleep.Mars is not located in the belt of life. From predictions about the future, it is known that people will try to populate Mars, ... [More]
'Dead Sea' is well.....dead! But still, some events of great importance to mankind have taken place in and around Dead Sea. You can ask Moses, Jesus and others...
Mars, of course, also fulfills its goals unknown to us, but it is not suitable for settlement where a person could cultivate fields in the midst of nature and self-serve himself. Even Elon Musk prefers to buy a twitter that can be skillfully manipulated and make money rather than spending money on a rocket to Mars.
This is the most ignorant **** I think I've read today! It is NOT impossible to inhabit Mars. Earth at one point was nothing but sand and rocks and look at you on your phone/computer giving out dumb opinions lol. Humanity loves a challenge, especially Musk, and to see humanity live on a dead planet would be a testament of our innovation and greatness.
You can not wait for a flight to Mars, but already now inhabit places with extreme conditions. I have found three places for you: The North Pole, the Sahara desert and the mountains in Greenland. Equipped with all modern science, you and your friends will be able to populate them as the first settlers of America and create the entire infrastructure of civilization. This is a challenge for you and for science, so take your hiking backpacks and go for it: Spoiler
