Armed police in Germany in 3-day hunt for 'Beast of Berlin'

An escaped lion on the loose in Germany has prompted an extensive police search that has lasted for days.
There have been alleged sightings of exotic big cats on the loose in the UK and other countries for decades, but this latest case - dubbed the 'Beast of Berlin' - is very much the real deal.

It remains unclear where the animal escaped from, but authorities in Germany have spent the better part of three days scouring the outskirts of the capital city for what is believed to be a large adult lioness.

The search seems to be centered around the Kleinmachnow, Teltow and Stahnsdorf areas where residents have been told to stay indoors and to ensure that their pets are also kept inside.
The alarm was originally raised on Wednesday night when two men filmed the big cat catching a wild boar before tearing it to shreds and eating it at the side of a road.

The origins of the lioness are particularly puzzling because no local zoos, circuses or animal shelters have owned up to mislaying the animal.

In all likelihood, the beast either escaped from or was released by a private collector.

It's probably not a lion but instead some kind of ungulate, possibly a boar or cow. https://tetzoo.com/blog/2023/7/20/kleinmachnow-lion-not-a-lion

Yeah, that is not a boar, or cow from the photo, and I'll respect the intelligence of Kleinmachnow's citizens to not react in such a way to a basic deer.   Moreover, the actual video would be much more useful than obfuscated screenshots, as the animal's movements would be instructive.   Tetzoo's conclusions are walking a tightrope.   "The report of the animal “killing a boar” could be an embellished or confused observation of it interacting with other boars" Palpable disdain for the witnesses.  "Everyone is a complete idiot, except for me and my Lenovo - go to my web page!"

German authorities are calling off the search for a suspected lioness after finding no evidence of a big cat on the loose. Police have been searching for more than a day after being notified about a wild animal by members of the public - but had found no trace. After speaking to experts, they now believe the creature is a wild boar. No paw-prints or DNA material, such as animal waste, had been found in areas where the lion was supposedly spotted. Earlier, the police told the BBC they believed a video widely circulating from Kleinmachnow was authentic. They said two officers had seen the anim... [More]

Reminds me of the time UK armed police surrounded and managed to subdue a soft toy: Armed police were sent to an Aberdeenshire farm after reports of a tiger on the loose - only to discover it was a large cuddly toy. A nervous farmer had phoned for help after spotting the beast lying down in his cowshed on Saturday night. Several vehicles, including an armed response team, were despatched to the farm at Hatton, near Peterhead. Toy tiger sparks armed police alert in Aberdeenshire - BBC News

I don't understand how people can't see the difference between a lion and a boar.

I suspect it belonged to  @acutes circus though Sometimes  people unfortunately keep exotic animals as "pets"

From the vid. Not a boar, and not a deer. Most definitely a lion. Hire a proper tracker with dogs, and you'll have a lion at the end of the day. Cops are not trained to hunt big cats. Not surprising the cops couldn't find it.

A member of a notorious German crime family has offered his help in capturing a suspected escaped lioness in the southern outskirts of Berlin. Police have been searching for more than a day after being notified about a wild animal on the loose but have yet to find it. Now, the son of the head of the Remmo family has said he can "lead the lioness back to her enclosure". Firas Remmo has urged the authorities not to shoot the creature. In a post on social media, he asked for anyone with information about the animal's whereabouts to "let him know first" so he can step in "before some idiot shoots ... [More]

I told you this will happen, all the creatures of the ice age are coming back. Cave lions, mammoths, wooly rhinos. They didn’t go extinct, they shifted dimensions, it’s really easy to understand. Vibration is the key. As the planets resonates from the polarity shift,  earths dimensions merge. Pterodactyls, dragons, many life forms are coming , that’s not right. Shifting is a better term to explain it. Bigfoots can cross intentionally, they have either the ability to alter their vibrations or they have developed tech to do it. This is the polarity shift. I can explain everything. I shoul... [More]
