The Irish Wake Museum has been home to numerous unexplained accounts of paranormal activity.
The museum, which is situated in Cathedral Square, Waterford, has seen more than its typical share of unexplained occurrences in recent years, leaving its curator desperate for answers.
Much of the activity has been in the form of sightings of children's reflections in the glass cabinets that house Georgian-era mourning jewelry which was made to commemorate the deceased.
Particularly chilling is the fact that much of it housed at the museum was made for very young children and some even contain real human hairs.
"Some members of staff, particularly those who have been opening up by themselves, have seen reflections of children in the glass," said curator Cliona Purcell.
"We had carpenters and stone masons working in the building, and even they had stories, but it always seemed to come back to children."
"One of the most prominent families who lived in the house were the Roberts family in Waterford."
"John Roberts was a Waterford architect and his wife Mary had more than 20 children during the course of their marriage, but only eight of them survived to adulthood. There were definitely kids who passed away within these walls."
Sightings of ghostly reflections aren't the only thing to be reported within the museum, either.
"The electronics go a bit funny at times," said Purcell. "Some of the stories come from visitors who would have considered themselves skeptics. We have even had a couple of people faint."
