Shocking CIA file details case of UFO that 'turned Russian soldiers to stone'

The remarkable case file concerns a close encounter in Siberia that allegedly resulted in the deaths of several soldiers.
The CIA's online declassified files archive can be a strange place - if you dig deep enough, you can find references to everything from psychic spy programs to encounters with hostile extraterrestrial entities.

One document in particular, however, might just take the cake - a one-page file that contains a summary of a 250-page KGB report on an attack by a UFO in Siberia back in the 1980s.

According to the file, the incident began when a saucer-shaped "low-flying spaceship" appeared without warning above a military unit that had been conducting routine training maneuvers.

Someone in the unit then unexpectedly launched a surface-to-air missile at the object, causing it to fall from the sky and crash somewhere a short distance away.

This is where things get really weird.

According to the testimonies of two soldiers who had been there, five short humanoids with "large heads and large black eyes" emerged from the debris of the craft.
"After freeing themselves... the aliens came close together and then merged into a single object that acquired a spherical shape," the report states.

"That object began to buzz and hiss sharply, and then became brilliant white. In a few seconds, the spheres grew much bigger and exploded by flaring up with an extremely bright light."

"At that very instant, 23 soldiers who had watching the phenomenon turned into... stone poles."

According to the report, the KGB retrieved the UFO debris and the "petrified soldiers" and took them to a secretive research institution near Moscow for analysis.

"Specialists assume that a source of energy that is still unknown to earthlings instantly changed the structure of the soldiers' living organisms, having transformed it into a substance whose molecular composition is no different from that of limestone," the report states.

We're not making this up - you can read the file on the CIA's own website - here.

The CIA representative who wrote up the report described it as "an extremely menacing case".

Makes you wonder why the CIA even bothered to keep records of something like this.

Data collection mania, like if that gives them more and more control over matter. Now they have the Utah Data Center with exabytes of junk data they hope to crack and analyze one day to extract something untold which will make them fabulously powerful.

Awesome place to put agents who misbehave or suck... instead of Alaska.  Punishment.

And have you read about those two cases back then when a UFO was dragging a train behind it and the second case when it crashed into a mountain? https://mrakopedia.net/wiki/В_Карелии_в_1985_году_НЛО_больше_часа_тащил_за_собой_грузовой_поезд https://vestiprim.ru/news/ptrnews/43836-dalnegorskaya-anamaliyazagadochnaya-katastrofa-nlo-30-letney-davnosti-ne-daet-pokoya-issledovatelyam.html

Train incident: Spoiler This story is most often called "the incident with train #1702", it happened in 1985 in the Karelian ASSR. It was first published in the magazine "Technology - Youth" in #8 for 1989. Nowadays, it is rarely discussed anywhere, although it is one of the most unusual UFO cases in the USSR. In February 1985, a freight train was carrying 70 empty cars to Kostomuksha via Petrozavodsk and Suoyarvi. The locomotive was driven by engineer Sergei Orlov and his assistant V. Mironov. At 20:35 they passed through the Essoila station, everything was fine, the train was running accordi... [More]

Jeez, I remember how the first case was discussed on TV in the "Vzglyad" (Outlook) late night program! Not sure what year it was though, because the program came into existence only in 1987 and the "Train halt in Karelia" case happened in 1985. May be it was 1987, I was grown up enough then to understand what they were talking about. Anyway I am sure that the "UFO" was just a planet Venus in an exceptionally clean evening sky which appeared unexpectedly from behind the hillside when the train was going around a curve. About the train being "dragged" by the UFO and other spicy details those can... [More]

This reminds me of Genesis 19 in the bible, where Lot's wife is described as turning into a pillar of salt because she looked back at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, despite being warned not to. The russian soldiers turned to stone with the chemical composition of limestone as per the cia account. Limestone have a saltish appearance due to a phenomenon called efflorescence. Interesting indeed. Perhaps our alien comrades still cherish intentions of colonising earth with manipulative tactics.
