The shop's owner arrived for work only to discover a large hole and a pile of debris where the object had struck.
CCTV and doorbell cameras in the immediate vicinity of the auto repair shop - which is situated in Magnolia, New Jersey - captured the moment that a bright flash lit up the sky and a mysterious object plummeted from the heavens and straight through the roof at 2:30 a.m. back on April 9th.
When owner Sebastian Leonardo arrived for work the following day, the first thing he noticed was the large hole in the ceiling and the mess of debris all over the floor.
Further signs of damage were found after employees climbed up to take a closer look.
"A sizable dent in a thick steel gage box," said Leonardo. "That's when I went to all of my cameras and found the video and realized what had actually happened - a flash outside and the impact in here."
"You eventually see a giant fireball come through the ceiling, and everything comes flying down."
It wasn't clear exactly what had hit the shop, but the most likely explanation is that it was a meteorite, although it is also possible that a piece of space debris was responsible.
"There's a bright flash, there's a boom, there's a hole. That's three out of four things," said astronomer Derrick Pitts.
"If we had one more thing, like an item that we could identify as being extraterrestrial, then we might say it's something from space."

Very interesting, but unless something that can be identified is found we will never know what it was. Just, a guess but it may have been part of comet made totally of ice, which fully melted upon impact, just a guess nothing else!
