Mystery surrounds weird colored, flashing lights over Vancouver

What could this be ? Image Credit: Twitter / @dom_lucre The footage, which was uploaded onto Twitter/X by the user @dom_lucre on April 15th, quickly racked up over 5 million views and sparked a great deal of debate over exactly what it shows.

The video appears to contain several different shorter clips of mysterious objects, each producing a number of bright, multi-colored lights which can be seen illuminating the clouds.

One of them is simply a single bright light, while another seems to be producing laser-like beams.

"This strange light was recorded by witnesses in the United States and Canada," the uploader wrote. "Witnesses report colorful UAPs and other unexplained phenomena lighting up the sky."

While it might be tempting to jump to the conclusion that this phenomenon is evidence of alien visitors, a much more likely explanation is that these are drones equipped with colorful LEDs and lasers.

"Here's my problem with this," one commenter wrote.

"Why would alien spaceships have lights on them, assuming they want to be here incognito? I'm sure they have the ability to see what's around them without lights."It's a fair point - in fact it begs the question, why would any alien spaceship need to light itself up like a Christmas tree once it reached Earth's atmosphere ?

In all likelihood, the footage simply shows drones engaging in a multi-colored light show.
