UFO Sightings

Luminous UFO in Scotland.

Image Credit: CC BY 2.0 Jason Rogers In late summer of 1998 myself and my girlfriend at the time were parked up in my car at the edge of the Black Loch in Limerigg Scotland. We had been out just cruising around as it was a lovely evening and decided to have a break and rest for a little while. Anyway I have to say that what I'm going to tell here may be hard to believe for some people, though I swear it is the truth and the most amazing sight I have seen in my life to date.

Anyway myself and my girlfriend at the time were parked just back from the edge of the loch, no more than five metres just listening to some music/ chatting and relaxing when I happened to look out my driver side window and noticed in the distance a luminous pale green light around twenty miles away, which was coming in between two hills of the Ochil Hills range and I'd estimate about 250 metres from ground level. ( I have googled the distance from our location to these hills and they are approx twenty miles away and at a height ranging from 300 to 400 metres ) I state 250 metres in height as it was between two hills and the area it traveled through was very much lower than the heights of the surrounding hills and I feel it effectively used the terrain to its advantage.

I could not believe what I was seeing as it was a perfectly clear evening and nice weather conditions with total visibility to either horizon on each side of us and this object stood out severely from the landscape etc around. I turned to my girlfriend at the time and said to her to look as it was coming and heading in our direction real quick and she also noticed it heading our way. The both of us watched it travel directly to our location and it passed right over the top of the car at no more than 50 feet from the ground. So close it passed over us that I literally looked up through the windscreen as it did so to keep watching it

The amazing thing is that it was two colours and was like an elongated tear drop shape is the only and best way to describe it, the outer colour was a pale luminous green colour and the inner colour was of a much darker green in colour, all in all I'd say it was around 45 feet in length and 15 in width at its widest point. This object came from around twenty miles away from when I first saw it and at a height of around 250 metres to directly above us at 50 feet above the ground.

At this point I was totally stunned by both it's appearance and it's speed as it was moving faster than any plane I have seen. In short here are some figures that this object achieved:

- Descent from 250 metres above ground to 50 feet over approx twenty miles.
- Horizon to horizon in around 35 seconds!!!!! Around 40 miles!!!
- 50ft above ground at around 1300 plus mph!!!
- Clearly under control both by path and altitude.

This object also was totally quiet-silent on all fronts. Ie no engine noise- no wind noise- no sonic boom (which should have been heard) It did not even ripple or displace the water on the loch!!!! Which I thought was totally unreal and amazing as in Scotland I have seen many low flying fighter jets on training exercises though they couldn't get close to the speed and distance this object can cover and familiar with the sonic boom created when these fighter jets break the sound barrier,which considering this object totally smashed the sound barrier at 50 feet above ground with no noise whatsoever! Naturally as I have seen nothing like it before or since myself and my girlfriend were excitedly chatting and talking about it directly after we saw it fly over us and away. What happened ten to fifteen minutes later confirmed some questions we were having like was that just a luminous light-was it a UFO of some design and what the hell was that ?

This part of our experience I do not like stating but feel I must as it is totally relevant but some people I have told scoff or debunk our sighting but I state it because it is true and glad it occurred also as it confirms to me that this object was real- it was doing this speed- it was a solid object- and this Sighting DID occur.

After our sighting we had been still parked and chatting at the same spot when around ten to fifteen minutes later a large chopper (helicopter) which was total flat black in colour and had no clearly identifiable markings on it came and started to fly around and circle the loch area. This chopper was clearly searching this area as over the other side of the loch it was hovering over a little forested area and low ( just above the trees) and it also did circular sweeps right round the loch and was there for five minutes searching constantly. This chopper was without doubt searching for something. My feeling is that the object I had seen was picked up on radar and because it flew so low over us I feel it went off radar just before or at the location of the loch. Make no mistake as this chopper was looking and searching all over and around this loch.

To me this confirmed that this object was picked up on radar and also that it was a solid object to be able too be picked up on radar. This chopper I feel was an army/ military chopper as that is exactly what it looked like.

After watching this for over five minutes we both decided to get away from here as this chopper was constantly searching and would easily have seen us parked at the loch side,so we decided to go as we both felt that it was a matter of time before this chopper would land and we would be approached and questioned about what we had seen. This answers a few questions to me also like- This sighting will be able to be validated as the army/ military sent a chopper to clearly look at and search this area so therefore a record will exist by them for this search. Secondly if it was a secret UK plane made by the army or Air Force then why send a chopper to look for it because the army/Air Force would know it was they're own craft!!! Thirdly. I know of no man made aircraft that can reach these speeds and fly so low whilst emitting no noise or wind or sonic boom and with no evident engine or thrust system ( as man made engines show heat-make noise-and power plants can be easily identified)

To summarize I know that a lot of people will read this and be disbelieving as in all honesty I would also if I hadn't seen it and witnessed it myself. Though believe what you will as I stated when I began that this did happen and this was real without a doubt!! So either man has made an aircraft that is luminous green in colour and makes no sound-has no visible power plant-can travel upwards of 1300 mph at 50 feet above the ground whilst making no noise whatsoever or sonic boom and clearly under total control. Or on the other hand it is an extraterrestrial craft from out with our planet and technology. Personally I think that it is the latter as I'm pretty certain that we do not have the capability yet to perform these feats in flight and with the current technology we have.

To all you folks reading this I have never given this story to any media/ online site etc etc and as such this is the first time I have spoken publicly about since then,apart from close friends and family as I felt that what we seen should be out they're for others to read and view. I would be very interested if anyone reading this has seen a similar object to which I describe though only if they genuinely have done so as it interests me in the way that this object took the rule book for physics and our understanding of flight/motion then totally discarded and effectively rewrote it!!! If a UFO is something that looks like no other aircraft- flies at phenomenal speed without a sound- is clearly under control- then I would testify in any court of any country that what I have stated and seen is 100 percent true and accurate! Myself personally I feel it was a definite UFO,without a doubt!!!
