Absolutely. I think it was used many times but a famous one originated with Queen Olga of Kiev. She was a viking queen, how she became a saint is a miracle in itself. The short version: After her husband, Prince Igor of Kyiv, was murdered by the Drevlians, Olga, the Queen of Kyiv, famously laid siege to their city of Iskorosten (modern-day Korosten) and ultimately destroyed it using a clever trick involving birds and fire.

And it seems the stupid concept carries on and on with identical final efficiency. Google for "hundeminen" from WWII and even more recently dolphins.

16th Century Rocket Cat would be a good name for a band.

And, Jetpack Pigeons would be a good name for their debut album.

That’s an interesting concept, however getting past the negative side of it would nit be easy.

Walking/flying bombs, I'd say. The flame is the fuse.
